I believe the world and people in it to be interconnected and yet I am always preoccupied with sections of the immediate surroundings and the details found therein. Working artistically is having a serious yet playfull approach to the process.
My artistic work is based on a sensual and curious interaction with the surroundings. Work is play. I have an interest in space – as an actual and a mental landscape – as a cultural phenomenon and a sense of the unconscious. It is combined with the need to immerse myself in what I observe. Through what is experienced as a tactile work process, the impressions of the body and mind are visualized and therefore communicated.
Art is significant in the sense that it makes us reconsider the world as we know it. Art questions our existential or societal position – sometimes, but not always, it gives us answers to our wonder. Art is a mirror held up to man, and therefore in my eyes an indispensable factor in relation to human existence.
